Salvador Dali
Spanish - Figueras, Catalonia, Spain
May 11, 1904 - January 23,1989

Overview:
Salvador Dali was one of the most inventive and unpredictable painters the art world has ever seen. A major part of the Surrealist movement, Dali's work often defies description, so innovative and strange are his pieces. His art, however, contained within it an inherent contradiction: while the paintings themselves are certainly otherworldly, interpretation of these pieces is in many cases incomplete without discussion of the real-world issues that inspired them.

The titles of Dali's pieces are often as outrageous as the paintings themselves. One would be hard-pressed to imagine just what an "Enchanted Beach with Three Fluid Graces" would look like; the painting is as incredible as its name would suggest. "Endless Enigma" is just that, featuring a large bearded face intertwined with what looks like the headstock of a musical instrument--an instrument that ends in a hoof. These images are set without rhyme or reason against the backdrop of a mountain range.

Here at Art Auction Fundraiser.com, we carry both famous and obscure Dali lithographs and reproductions. Famous works such as "The Persistence of Memory" are also offered as hand-painted oil reproductions for the ultimate art displays.
